About Autism Dogs Charity

Autism Dogs Charity provides highly trained assistance dogs to support autistic people and their families. We are based in Congleton, Cheshire, and we are proud to be the first and only Assistance Dog Programme accredited by the National Autistic Society. We are also members of Assistance Dogs International and Assistance Dogs UK.

The role

We are looking for dog-loving, reliable and trustworthy people to provide overnight cover alongside another Overnight Dog Sitter, three nights per week. You’ll help ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of our Assistance Dogs in Training overnight.

Our setting is a farmhouse with surrounding paddocks, and we place dog welfare at the centre of everything we do. You will receive full training, including canine first aid, and a careful introduction so you can build trust and bonds with the dogs before completing overnight shifts.

  • Spot clean living areas as needed
  • Monitor and manage noise (settling dogs as appropriate)
  • Observe for any concerns and report issues promptly, following our procedures

  • Experience working within the animal care industry
  • Confident dog handling experience
  • Live within a reasonable travelling distance of Congleton
